O Victoria & Albert Museum, em Londres, reabre suas galerias de moda depois de meses de reforma (incluindo o tempo em que estive na cidade, por isso não pude visitar a parte de moda do museu) com uma exposição chamada Ballgowns: British Glamour since 1950.

The Victoria & Albert Museum, in London, reopens its Fashion Galleries, after some months of renovation (including the time I was in the city which made me not able to visit the fashion area of this museum), with an exhibition called Ballgowns: British Glamour since 1950.

Até dia 06 de janeiro de 2013, mais de sessenta vestidos de baile estarão expostos no museu, entre vestidos de tapetes vermelhos, desfiles e bailes reais. Desde os anos 50, os tipos de ocasiões onde os vestidos eram usados foram mudando, as ocasiões formais foram diminuindo (para as pessoas “comuns”). Vestidos da coleção do V&A de estislitas como Catherine Walker e contemporâneos como das marcas Alexander McQueen, Erdem e Giles.

Until January 6th, 2013, more than sixty ballgowns will be displayed there, between red carpet gowns, from fashion shows and royal balls. Since the 1950′s, the kind of occasion where the gowns would be wore would change a lot.
