Saint Laurent nasceu em 1936 na Algéria e aos 17 anos foi para Paris. Lá, Yves trabalhou com Christian Dior e assimiu a direção criativa da maison após a morte de Dior, em 57.
É em 1962 que Yves Saint Laurent abre sua própria marca com Pierre Bergé. O criador trabalhou nas coleções de prêt-à-porter até 1998 e sua última coleção de haute couture foi em 2002.
Saint Laurent was born in 1936 in Algeria and when he was 17 years old, he went to Paris. There, Yves Saint Laurent worked for Christian Dior and he was made the creative chief designer of Maison Dior after Dior’s death in 1957.
It was in 1962 that Yves Saint Laurent opened his own brand with Pierre Bergé. He created the prêt-à-porter collections untill 1998 and his last haute couture collection was in 2002.
