For those of you who love architecture and interior design, this year, again, I visited the Salone del Mobile Milano that happened here in Milan a while ago, I already had already published a video in portuguese on youtube channel (/manuluize) with the main trends from the decor fair.
To check the video of the Salone del Mobile 2018 here in Milan (it’s in portuguese, but you can still see all the decor and trends ;)), watch it here:
Lots of trends in architecture and decoration, a lot of technology or even some completely classic decoration (and sometimes even a little “exaggerated”), the Salone del Mobile Milano is a fair that happens annually here in Italy and is huge, with a lot of variety for all tastes and styles!
It takes a few days to visit a good part of the fair, after all is really a lot to see, so the highlights of the edition are on my video.
A trend that may be a little contradictory that I would like to highlight: the closets and cabinets in transparent glass, whether for closets, on bedroom or even in other parts of the house (like living room or even in the kitchen). I say contradictory, because personally I enjoyed it very much, but I’m still not sure if I would choose to have it at home (after all, in the case of the closet, it would have to be very well organized all the time!).

If you follow me on Instagram (if you don’t, you can follow me at @manuluize), you noticed I’ve been going to some fitness and training events organized with a initiative by the beauty brand Lierac, that’s organizing a beauty run here in Milan on June 9th: the Lierac Beauty Run 2018.
The Lierac Beauty Run is one of the brand’s initiative to empower woman and to help us to add some healthy running/activities in our life with more consistency.
In 2018, this is going to be the third beauty run and this years’ run was presented on the new New Balance flagship store here in Milan and it’s also known as the “corsa in rosa”, that means “the pink run” in italian. The run is organized by RCS Active Team – RCS Sport in collaboration with Lierac.
Andrea Trabuio, Head of Mass Events RCS Active Team, explained: “Lierac Beauty Run is a run created to celebrate women and lovers of a healthy lifestyle, a day of great celebration for everyone. Also on this year, the run will pass in the heart of Milan with two routes, one of 5 km and another one of 10 km. The run is the end of a journey that started in January with RUN4ME Lierac, which has registered over 1000 members. We are waiting for you on June 9th starting at 3.30 pm at the Lierac Beauty Village, with many activities organized by our partners and with a special Kids Area. ”
The Lierac Beauty Run will take place on the Saturday 9th June at 9.00 pm, with departure and arrival at the majestic Civic Arena of Milan, and then winding along a city route of 5 km and 10 km! Which seems to be so cool! All women and their companions can register for the 5 km race. Also this year, there will be a special start entirely dedicated to families and their children.
The most trained runners can participate in the 10 km, competitive and non-competitive running.
Over the last years, once a year, the Salon du Chocolat Milano makes Milan a sweeter city and a great place for those who love chocolate and cooking. I’ve been to the 2018 edition of the Salon du Chocolat here in Milan and I loved the experience, because I love cooking, specially sweets.
From 15th to 18th February, Milan hosted the Salon du Chocolat with so many events and brands exhibiting their amazing chocolates at the Salon. During the four days of the event, we had 47 showcooking events, 36 presentations, and more then 105 brands and degustations of chocolate and sweets.
• Salon du Chocolat Milano 2018:
It all started with the opening night on the 15th February and with a fashion show inspiredby the king: the chocolate. The dresses always had a story behind it and they were created by fashion designers collaborating with chocolatiers and chefs, creating a very interesting final result.
Check some of the dresses that were in exhibition after the opening fashion show at the Salon du Chocolat Milano 2018:
I love cooking, so I checked many of the showcookings during the Salon du Chocolat and I definitely learned a lot from italian chocolatiers and chefs.
Nicolò Moschella Showcooking at the Salon du Chocolat Milano 2018
Nicolò Moschella is a young pastry chef that I already heard about, because once I walking around Milan I ended up in a place called Just Love, it’s a coffee shop, but you can also have lunch there, as well as the famous italian aperitivo by the end f the day. The place is very cute and fashionable (I guess you now understand why I liked it.), but food is also great. I already tried from sandwiches to sweet croissants, tart, fish and even a veggie lasagna, all was always very good and with a nice ambience.

One of the brands I meet during the Salon du Chocolat here in Milan was Italianframe, a multisensorial shop opening here in Milan. I tried one of their cookies with a crystalized violet, it was such a good combination! Italianframe defines itself as a place where art, pastry and flowers meet, the end result could be just a great combination.

Can we say crystalized flowers are a trend in chocolates already?

If you are around Milan around this time next year and you love chocolate and sweets, the Salon du Chocolat could be a great time to enjoy and appreciate good quality chocolate and sweets. Be it a program for italians, milanese or travelers.
A must-see in Milan for those who love gastronomy and want to get to know one of the most famous and traditional pastry shops in Milan: the Pasticceria Marchesi. Created in 1824 and acquired by the Prada group, the pastry shop has now three addresses in the Italian city.
• Pasticceria Marchesi in Milan
A very traditional pastry shop in Milan, Pasticceria Marchesi was founded in 1824 and today it stands at the same address, being a historical pastry shop in Milan and even a symbol of the city. With so much tradition, as soon as I was around, I had to stop by at the traditional address to check it myself.
The pasticceria (Italian word for “pastry shop”) really began only with sweets and after 1900 also became a coffee shop. The traditional address on Via S. Maria alla Porta 11 / a, is the same since its opening and this address is more like a “fast coffee” kind of place with no place to sit or just to take something home / hotel (which by the way, when you take away, its wrapped in this lovely packaging of the beginning of this post).
About the sweets from the Marchesi pastry shop: delicious! Marchesi really has the tradition it deserves, I went to visit the traditional address and tried some traditional sweets and I also couldn’t resist to take others for later. (Yes, I love sweets.)
About the prices, I would say it’s a very normal price, just so you can have an idea, the sweets on the photo above had a price by weight and they cost only € 5. (And they were delicious indeed.)
So, when thinking about where to eat in Milan, if you’re craving some sweets, stop by at one of Marchesi’s address.

• Traditional address: Via S. Maria alla Porta 11 / a, 20123 Milano (It does not open on Mondays).
• Second address: Via Monte Napoleone 9, 20121 Milano.
• Third Address: Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II
The second address is the new address opened in 2015, after the brand has been acquired by Prada. Unlike the traditional address, the new addresses have a space with tables and seats and a beautiful design chosen by Miuccia Prada herself.

To find a solution, more and more women are turning to aesthetic medicine experts, dermatologists and / or wellness centers to have additional support when eating healthy and exercise are not enough anymore in combating the cellulite.
