I’ve been trying the Enzymatic Peel by Arkana Skincare for almost two months now every week, and I must share it because I’ve been loving this enzymatic peel/exfoliator! It’s gentle and it makes the skin renew easy at home, leaving the skin super soft and smooth.
First of all, let me just remember the 3 different types of most common skincare exfoliators before getting into more details of the Arkana Enzymatic Peel:
• we have physical exfoliators: products like face scrub that have micro particles that exfoliate the skin, meaning those products you can feel on your skin, like little granules, or physical brushes like the Clairsonic;
• we have the chemical exfoliators: which are products with chemical ingredients like AHAs and BHAs, that basically use acids to exfoliate the skin;
• and we have the enzymatic exfoliators: they have more natural ingredients like fruit enzymes, similar to chemical peels, but they are usually gentler to the skin.
The function of all exfoliators is to help to remove the dead cells of the surface of your skin, avoid clogging pores, breakouts and helping as an anti-aging treatment. It will also help your skincare products to penetrate in the right skin, meaning you won’t be applying your creams over the dead cells that will be removed anyone, so let’s say when you apply any skincare after regular exfoliations, your products will be going on the right skin.
I personally prefer chemical and now enzymatic exfoliators, this was my first experience with an enzymatic peeling and I must say I loved it!
• Enzymatic peel by Arkana skincare:
So now we have clear the differences between these 3 different types of skincare exfoliators and peels, let’s go into the details of the Arkana Enzymatic Peel which is a delicate enzymatic peel with 6% of active substances: papaya, pineapple and mango biocomplex, Hydra Synol™ DOI, Glycohyal LW, and vegetable glycerin.
Over the last 4 years, I’ve been using products from Arkana Skincare and this is a brand that I’ve been really loving because their skincare products are neurocosmetics. The products are really effective and it wasn’t different with this Enzymatic peel!
Like I mentioned before, enzymatic peels are created with fruit enzymes and the Arkana Enzymatic Peel has papaya, pineapple and mango biocomplex as its ingredients. This is a delicate peel that is recommended for sensitive and capillary skin because it doesn’t irritate the skin.
It will remove the dead cell of the surface of the skin in a delicate way, without irritating the skin, helping to increase the absorption of ingredients from any products that will be applied after. It can be used as a part of beauty treatments at salons, or also at home. And at home is how I’ve been using it.
• How to use the Arkana Enzymatic Peel:
This peel should be applied on the skin for 5 to 10 minutes, then after you can water and massage and, finally, rinse it with water. It has a kind of transparent color to it and something like a gel texture, that when you apply to the skin gets transparent. It’s very easy to apply and remove.
As we know, which skin is different, so the frequency to use a peel will be different to every one according to the skin sensitivity and any skincare problems we’re facing at the moment. Since my skin can be really sensitive sometimes, so I started to use this enzymatic peel once a week during my test and after doing it my skin felt SO SOFT AND SMOOTH!
I preferred to applied and leave it on my skin for 10 minutes. The first time I used it I noticed a difference, but it wasn’t a huge difference in my skin, but when I used it for the second time OMG! After the second peel (on the second week) my skin was feeling so soft and smooth, when I followed up with a serum and the rest of my skincare routine, the difference of texture and smoothness was very visible in my skin! After the second week, I’ve been noticing my skin was always smooth and soft to the touch after every peel I did with this product.
It’s been helping with the texture of my skin, especially on my period weeks, just today I applied it again hoping to get some smoothing back after a period week in which my skin was feeling very “emotional” (I was “gifted” with a pimple this week and some “weird texture”), so I was happy to apply it today and see my skin feel better to the touch.
My skin was already used to chemical exfoliators (like glycolic and salicylic acid), so for me using peels isn’t something new, if you never used chemical exfoliators before, always be careful and start low frequency when you use a peel for the first time, actually, an enzymatic peel can also be a great option to start.
Always remember that skincare needs consistency and that exfoliating regularly is an important step into your routine. So if you have sensitive skin or are thinking if the Arkana Enzymatic Peel is a good peel, go for it! I’ve been really liking it and for sure I’ll continue to use it.
