A good body moisturizer is always important in our body care routine and for those of you who have or are facing very dry skin, I tried the Eucerin Complete Repair Moisturizing Lotion, an intensive moisturizing lotion with 10% urea and I’ve been loving it!
I have been really liking Eucerin products for a few years now, since some years ago when I first tried a cleanser for rosacea or reddish skin that I really liked. But returning to this moisturizer review, Eucerin’s Complete Repair Moisturizing Lotion is one of those lotions with a more consistent texture and it really moisturize the skin very well, after all, it’s a product to dry skin.
• Eucerin Complete Repair Moisturizing Lotion: Review
The Eucerin Intensive Complete Repair moisturizing Lotion has 10% urea and aquaporin technology, I believe that among the two of them, urea is more famous in general. Urea is a component that can bring the water present inside the blood vessels into the skin cells, meaning that it has a strong hydrating action on our skin and it’s an important ingredient in many body lotions.
But the aquaporin technology was new to me and I went to give it a little research to understand it better. Aquaporins are channels that are on the cell membrane and have the function of driving the water molecules in and out of these structures, as well as blocking the passage of other substances.
Therefore, the use of this technology in cosmetics has the function of activating the production of aquaporins, as a result, they increase irrigation in the skin region and it can improve hydration capacity by up to 50%. That being said, the combination of this technology with urea actually creates a very strong moisturizing product to our skin and the results are visible.
In practice, I found that the intensive moisturizing lotion is really intensive and it’s great for dry skin or for when your skin gets drier during the cold days. After you apply the product, the skin is already soft at the time, of course for long-term results, you need to apply it everyday.
Eucerin Intensive Moisturizing Lotion, U$ 18.06.
On the instructions it says you should apply the product as many times as necessary during the day, as my skin is not usually very dry, but since here in Italy we are in the winter season, my skin ends up getting drier, but still, I applied it only once a day, after a shower. And it was great to my skin.
Another interesting thing about this body moisturizer is that it actually leaves the skin moisturized for long hours, it is not one of those lotions you apply on the skin and shortly after the skin has the same dry texture as before. It actually leaves the skin softer and moisturized for a much longer time.
